July 14, 2013 - Locked in the Upright Position

On a plane to Dublin, everything seems to be going smoothly. Once we ascended to our altitude, the captain says something over the intercom that sounds playful and the plane becomes vertical. The crowds applauds and everyone is delighted but me - I am uncomfortable because I was trying to go to sleep. The plane feels like it tries to right itself, but stalls, and we’re still vertical. No one complains, but I’m growing increasingly concerned. The cabin is quite. The flight attendants haven’t said anything, but they are no longer smiling.
