November 16, 2016 - Quartz Mine

Felt like we were on holiday. Driving to the quartz mine… the road had been paved for cars so you could drive right in. There was a steep hill down into the mouth of the mine. I reached my hands up from the convertible as if we were on a rollercoaster and my fingers could almost touch the frame of the entrance. The dark road led us down deep and then leveled off into a large open area and a parking area. We got out and began exploring on foot.
Immediately we saw a giant quartz being prepared for shipment to a nearby town. Workers told us that they usually cut the quartz before it goes, but in this case the consumer had their own cutting facility.
This giant quartz was about 60 - 70 cm and looked like water except it was solid. From some angles it was clear and at other angles it was more opaque. The colors shifted as you walked around it.
We moved on, but the dream fades after that.
